GRANDPA JOHN's memoirs, and old family photos

The memoirs of John Korns (1883-1959) are available as pdf's, for easy reading (or printing) with free Adobe Reader software.

CLICK HERE FOR PART ONE (John's life before China). Fans of the television series "ER" will see that nothing has changed at Cook County Hospital in a hundred years -- same old "whoring" interns! Parts Two and Three will be on-line soon.

Old family photographs you can view (and download) here. Many were added in November 2007.

You can link to Robert ("Grandpa") Korns's 1995 obituary here (thanks to Julianne Kelly for finding this!).

A WORLD OF KORNSES

Stephen writes from Amherst, Massachussetts:

Oddly enough, I was prompted to do a Google search on "Korns Family" (try it!) and was surprised to learn that much of the early American family history is on line www.korns.org.   There is even a copy of the 1725 baptism certificate of our common German ancestor Carl Korn.  Additional links trace various lines of descendants, and I suppose each of us is in there somewhere. Its nice to think we are all related, however temporarily...  It seems that this family has even done some good in this world.  Maybe that is the best part.

DIGITAL "RAINBOW NEWS"!

The Rainbow News was a Korns family-and-friends newsletter compiled by John Kelly from 1980 to 1992.
