In the past year, the Drydens have welcomed two new members to their family: Brian Winnestaffer, who married Jessica in June 2007 on the Dryden
compound in Palmer, Alaska, and the as-yet-unnamed sailboat which Dan and Nancy acquired on the Rio Dulce, Guatemala in February 2008 (scroll
down the map below to see where that is).
Brian, besides being an all-around great guy, is a skilled forest firefighter and biological researcher, and has mastered many other practices since
coming to Alaska from Ohio several years ago. He and Jessica built a beautiful house on the Matanuska River in Alaska, and have been traveling
recently, including a spiritual adventure in India. You can see a few photos from their wedding week here.
Some of you may not know that Dan and Nancy lived on a different sailboat, Janetta, most of the time from 1976 until 1982. You can read about
their life on Janetta by accessing any of several Rainbow News articles (pdf's), starting with this one.
On August 9, 2008, Dan's life was cut short on the boat in Guatemala. His friends and family mourn his passing, while honoring his life and the gifts he blessed us with. His trucker colleagues called him the "Professor", because he was a generous and multifaceted teacher. JAI BABA.
Family friend Jason Overby helped create a website dedicated to Dan. It includes photographs, information, and thoughts from friends and family. CLICK HERE TO ACCESS THIS WEBSITE.
